Qualifications

• Minimum five years of direct clinical services experience, including exposure to chemical dependency and psychiatric diagnoses.
• Experience in case management and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, coordination, case management and monitoring of mandatory participants, including licensed professionals.
• Provide consultation to hospital leadership on performance and employee issues.
• Provide short-term counseling and supportive services to voluntary participants.
• Assist with program promotion and awareness with hospital personnel and presentations.
• Staff critical cases with senior Caring for Caregivers leadership and relevant committees.
• Complete all documentation per professional and departmental standards.

The Professional Health Coordinator serves a key role in Cleveland Clinic’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This role includes assessment, case management, short-term counseling, and support for both mandatory and voluntary caregivers—primarily healthcare professionals with concerns such as substance use, mental health, or cognitive issues.

Caregivers in this position must manage sensitive and complex cases with discretion, professionalism, and high emotional intelligence. They will collaborate with hospital leadership, work across all organizational levels, and may contribute to compliance monitoring and program development.

A caregiver in this role will work 4 days a week on-site at Bath Health and Wellness and one day on-site at Mercy Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and one evening per-week from 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m

Occasional schedule flexing may be required for critical employee situations.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide assessment, coordination, case management and monitoring of mandatory participants, including licensed healthcare professionals and physicians with suspected issues of impairment.
• Provide consultation to hospital leadership on the identification and resolution of job performance problems relative to employee personal problems.
• Provide short-term counseling and supportive services to voluntary participants.
• Assist with program promotion and awareness by establishing relationships with key hospital personnel and conducting presentations.
• Staff all critical cases with senior Caring for Caregivers leadership, as well as the Licensed Professionals Health Committee and Physician Health Committee when indicated.
• Complete all documentation in adherence with professional and departmental standards.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Master's degree in one of the Behavioral Sciences.
• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
• Minimum five (5) years of experience with direct clinical services, including broad exposure to chemical dependency and psychiatric diagnoses
• Case management and assessment experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) in chemical dependency counseling
• Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP)
• Prior experience in employee assistance program (EAP) and/or clinical experience with professional populations
• Knowledge of or experience in healthcare professional impairment and rehabilitation
• Experience consulting with leadership regarding employee behavioral health/performance concerns

Physical Requirements:

• A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
• Normal or corrected vision and hearing.
• Extensive sitting and frequent walking.
• Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $57,510.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $87,697.50
