Job summary

Horrocks in Henderson, NV seeks a Professional Engineer for Roadway to lead design initiatives on diverse transportation projects. You will own projects from concept to completion, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and ensure quality, budget, and schedule adherence.

The role requires a PE license, 5–10 years of roadway experience, and proficiency with Bentley/Autodesk tools. Strong communication and a client-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• 5–10 years of roadway transportation engineering experience.
• Experience on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria.
• Proficiency using Bentley and/or Autodesk civil design software.
• Knowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures.
• Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails.
• Prepare studies, reports, memos, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Lead roadway design discipline and coordinate other design disciplines under PM guidance.
• Support project managers with client relations and stakeholder coordination.
• Take ownership of projects from start to finish, focusing on quality, budget, and schedule.
• Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success.

Key Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
