Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop structural designs and engineering calculations for PEMB projects.
  • Perform structural analysis and ensure compliance with building codes and design standards.
  • Review project requirements, contract documents, specifications, and design criteria.
  • Identify constructability concerns and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Review and seal engineering documents in accordance with licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Design Team to create efficient detailing solutions.
  • Respond to RFIs and provide technical support to stakeholders.
  • Execute QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy of deliverables.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
  • Manage project priorities while maintaining quality, schedule, and customer expectations.

Metal Building Industries (MBI) is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our growing Engineering team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional who enjoys solving complex structural challenges, developing efficient designs, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects.

A Professional Engineer at MBI is responsible for the engineering execution and delivery of assigned pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects. This position develops structural designs, performs engineering analysis and calculations, reviews project requirements for code compliance, and provides professional engineering review and approval of construction documents. The Professional Engineer is accountable for the accuracy, completeness, quality, and timely delivery of engineering services while supporting MBI's commitment to safety, constructability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position collaborates closely with internal design staff, project teams, and external stakeholders to develop practical, code-compliant structural solutions.

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in PEMB engineering or a closely related field.
  • Proficient in engineering and design software (MBS, TEKLA, EnerCalc, RISA, Microsoft Excel, and related engineering tools).
  • Experience performing structural analysis, design calculations, and engineering review of construction documents.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, design standards, and engineering principles related to commercial or industrial construction.
  • Ability to review and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and code requirements.
