Job Details

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong familiarity with the following design criteria: LRFD bridge design, strength design, analysis of moving live loads on structures produced by vehicles, trains, aircraft, etc., soil/structure interaction, flotation resistance, product lifting considerations, embedded plates/anchor design, Environmental Engineering criteria, some seismic design criteria, serviceability and durability considerations, and certain stability analysis.
• Knowledge of the following structures design codes: State DOT standards and specifications, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design specifications, ACI 318-19, ACI 350-20, various ASTM product type codes (i.e., ASTM C76, ASTM C478, ASTM C507, ASTM A615/A706, ASTM C857), AREMA, and FAA structure design criteria.

Minimum Skills And Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an engineer.
• Strong testing and database design capabilities.
• Strong understanding of automated/manual manufacturing processes.
• Strong focus on quality control.
• Licensure in VA, MD, WV, NC, SC, FL or GA and ability to obtain licensure in other operating states (CP&P will pay for licensure renewals and continuous education requirements).
