Job summary

Remote PE Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex structural systems for commercial steel construction projects, ensuring that all designs adhere to required specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering professionals on project design and implementation.
  • Use advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed structural designs and plans.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the construction process aligns with the design plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical advice to project teams, offering innovative solutions to design challenges.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate design concepts, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards, and be willing to apply this knowledge to daily tasks.
  • Manage project resources and timelines, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher will be considered a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry, specifically in structural and commercial steel construction.
  • A valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software and other engineering design tools.
  • A strong understanding of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • A proactive approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • A commitment to maintaining high safety standards and a thorough understanding of construction regulations and standards.
