Position Overview

The successful candidate will embrace this culture, be a team player, self-motivated, receptive to guidance, possess excellent communication skills, and have great attention to detail. This role involves providing bathing services to our guests, either during their stay or as walk-in appointments.

A Day in the Life

The role of the Bather combines elements of wrangling, lifeguarding, and caring. You'll help our canine guests feel their best and leave smelling fresh. Your work will bring joy to pet owners and their pets, involving getting wet, handling fur, and cleaning up after animals. Expect to see happy, clean dogs and receive lots of kisses!

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all guests are treated with respect and dignity.
  2. Perform bathing services including bathing, brushing, drying, nail trims, and ear cleaning, meeting client requests within your scope.
  3. Communicate with pet parents about services, pickups, and relevant info via in-person, text, email, or report cards.
  4. Maintain professionalism and attention to detail in all communications.
  5. Use computer systems to document important information about pets and services.
  6. Refrain from giving haircuts; grooming is handled by Groomers.
  7. Complete baths efficiently, managing time effectively.
  8. Maintain bathing supplies, monitor inventory, and notify management when supplies are low.
  9. Ensure all products are current and properly stored.
  10. Keep the bathing area clean and sanitized, following standards for cleaning and disinfecting.
  11. Monitor pets' health during baths and report concerns.
  12. Ensure pets have water and bathroom breaks during extended stays.
  13. Follow safety protocols, especially with aggressive or escape-prone animals.
  14. Adhere to resort pricing and review prior notes before service.
  15. Identify pets accurately using grooming cards or name bands.
  16. Handle laundry promptly and coordinate with other departments as needed.
Team Qualities
  • Passion for animals, especially dogs and cats, with willingness to learn animal behavior.
  • Gentle and safe handling; no use of force or aggressive techniques.
  • Customer service focus, managing difficult situations with tact.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work in various physical conditions and environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling, including holidays and weekends.
  • Physically capable of handling dogs of all sizes and lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
