Job summary

California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS), a 501(c)6 nonprofit based in Sacramento, CA, seeks a Professional Development Coordinator to transform ideas into learning experiences. You will coordinate educational programs, conferences, workshops, and leadership development, serving park and recreation professionals across California.

Working with staff, volunteers, presenters, and partners, you will manage registrations, materials, and timelines, ensure accurate records and CEU tracking, and

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Event Management, Communications, Parks & Recreation, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years coordinating events, educational programs, meetings, or administrative operations.
  • Experience working with volunteers, customers, or members is preferred.
  • Association or nonprofit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the logistics and administration of educational programs, workshops, conferences, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Manage registration processes, participant communications, materials, and event logistics.
  • Coordinate program timelines to ensure successful delivery of educational experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records related to educational programming, participation, and continuing education.
  • Serve as a primary contact for presenters, instructors, and volunteer leaders throughout planning and delivery.
  • Coordinate speaker materials, schedules, travel, and presentation needs.
  • Assist in planning and executing the CPRS Conference & Expo and other events.
  • Support post-event evaluations and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain program databases, budgets, and educational documentation.
