We are looking for a Professional Counselor to provide clinical assessment and treatment of clients with various mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, medication-assisted treatment, and high-risk patients in crisis. Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus one year of licensed counseling experience.

Job Duties:
  • Completes intake and psychosocial evaluations primarily for adults and some aftercare individuals, which includes providing technical and clinical input on diagnosis and treatment in interdisciplinary staff consultation with staff prescribers to establish an individual's treatment plan for each individual in treatment.
  • Completes correspondence, written reports, and other communications with other agencies regarding an individual's care.
  • May provide crisis evaluation for individuals who are in acute distress as indicated by a family member, coroner, law authorities, etc., which may require complex and specialized crisis intervention, psychosocial evaluation, and specialized clinical treatment.
Position-Specific Details:
  • Appointment Type: Probational Appointment or Job Appointment
  • Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of $1.00/hour for hours worked performing direct patient care.
  • Professional Counselor 2: $21.27/hour minimum - $36.14/hour maximum
  • Professional Counselor 3: $22.76/hour minimum - $38.67/hour maximum
  • Professional Counselor 4: $24.35/hour minimum - $41.38/hour maximum
  • Career Progression: Professional Counselor 2, Professional Counselor 3, or Professional Counselor 4
  • Location: Denham Springs Behavioral Health Clinic in Denham Springs, Louisiana
