Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. in El Paso is seeking a Professional Coordinator to work on Stellantis/Rivian programs, developing packaging and tracking containers to meet internal and external requirements.

You will support ongoing production packaging changes to ensure profitability targets are met. Responsibilities include attending launch meetings, updating portals, limited travel, and assisting with quoting, process improvements, and cost savings.

Qualifications

• 1.5 years automotive industry experience (MPL, Supply Chain, Logistics) required.
• 1 year of wire harness experience preferred.
• Strong standard math skills and English language ability.

Responsibilities

• Attend new program launch meetings and ensure container/packaging tasks are completed on time.
• Update customer portals and forms with container data for submissions.
• Limited travel to sites, customers, and suppliers for returnable container management.
• Investigate and finalize containers/packaging for production and service parts.
• Assist with quoting, process improvements, and cost savings for container management.
• Provide updates on monthly KPI reporting to Packaging Engineering Manager.
• Achieve on-time signoffs for container forms and packaging changes.
• Track monthly cost savings and returnable packaging movements; report activities.
• Cross-train with team members to cover programs when needed.
• Initiate and direct container change and cost savings meetings.

Job Title Professional Coordinator

Work on Stellantis/Rivian programs to develop packaging, assist with container tracking that meets/exceed both internal customer and external customer requirements. Support ongoing production packaging changes/improvements to ensure that yearly profitability targets are met. Assist with returnable packaging to ensure that ingoing and outgoing packaging supports both internal manufacturing and external customer requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend new program launch meetings and ensure that container & packaging responsibilities within MPP processes are completed correctly and within the correct timeframe of the program.
• Update customer container portals/websites/packaging forms with correct container data so that form submissions are completed as required.
• Limited travel to Mfg sites, customers, and suppliers, when required, to finaliz returnable container management
• Investigate and finalize customer containers and packaging for Production and Service parts
• Assist Packaging Engineering Manager with quoting, process improvements, and cost savings activities for Container Management.
• Provide updates on monthly KPI reporting to the Packaging Engineering Manager
• Achieve on-time internal and external customer signoffs on container forms/submissions for program launches and current container or packaging changes/modifications
• Achieve monthly cost savings goals through container optimization & standard pack improvements. Track returnable container movement throughout the logistics flow and report monthly activities to eliminate returnable packaging losses
• Cross-Train with other Sumitomo packaging team members to be able to cover each others programs
• Initiate and direct container change and cost savings meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly desired but not required.
• 1.5 years of varied automotive industry experience required (MPL, Supply Chain, Logistics) with 1 year of varied Wire Harness experience also required.
• Strong standard math skills required.
• English language skills required. Strong Spanish language skills desired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word).
