Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. seeks a Professional Coordinator at the El Paso Customer Service Center to support Stellantis/Rivian packaging programs and container tracking.

You will assist with production packaging changes to meet internal and external requirements, and help manage returnable packaging for profitability. Responsibilities include attending program launches, updating data portals, and tracking container movements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly desired but not required.
• 1.5 years of varied automotive industry experience required (MPL, Supply Chain, Logistics).
• English language skills required. Strong Spanish language skills desired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word).

Responsibilities

• Attend new program launch meetings and ensure container & packaging responsibilities within MPP processes are completed on time.
• Update customer container portals/websites/packaging forms with correct data.
• Limited travel to Mfg sites, customers, and suppliers as needed.
• Investigate and finalize customer containers and packaging for Production and Service parts.
• Assist with quoting, process improvements, and cost savings activities for Container Management.
• Provide updates on monthly KPI reporting to Packaging Engineering Manager.
• Achieve on-time signoffs for container forms/submissions for launches and changes.
• Track returnable container movement and report monthly activities to reduce losses.
• Cross-train with packaging team members to cover programs.

Job Title Professional Coordinator

Work on Stellantis/Rivian programs to develop packaging, assist with container tracking that meets/exceed both internal customer and external customer requirements. Support ongoing production packaging changes/improvements to ensure that yearly profitability targets are met. Assist with returnable packaging to ensure that ingoing and outgoing packaging supports both internal manufacturing and external customer requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend new program launch meetings and ensure that container & packaging responsibilities within MPP processes are completed correctly and within the correct timeframe of the program.
• Update customer container portals/websites/packaging forms with correct container data so that form submissions are completed as required.
• Limited travel to Mfg sites, customers, and suppliers, when required, to finaliz returnable container management
• Investigate and finalize customer containers and packaging for Production and Service parts
• Assist Packaging Engineering Manager with quoting, process improvements, and cost savings activities for Container Management.
• Provide updates on monthly KPI reporting to the Packaging Engineering Manager
• Achieve on-time internal and external customer signoffs on container forms/submissions for program launches and current container or packaging changes/modifications
• Achieve monthly cost savings goals through container optimization & standard pack improvements. Track returnable container movement throughout the logistics flow and report monthly activities to eliminate returnable packaging losses
• Cross-Train with other Sumitomo packaging team members to be able to cover each others programs
• Initiate and direct container change and cost savings meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly desired but not required.
• 1.5 years of varied automotive industry experience required (MPL, Supply Chain, Logistics) with 1 year of varied Wire Harness experience also required.
• Strong standard math skills required.
• English language skills required. Strong Spanish language skills desired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word).
