Job summary

Lignetics, INC. is seeking a Production Worker / Packaging Operator to join our manufacturing team in Oregon. The role involves operating bagging and baler machinery, assisting with palletizing, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace on a rotating 6pm–6am shift.

A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required. Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, forklift and production line experience, and strong English communication for safety reporting and LOTO

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
• Ability to understand verbal safety commands and alarms in English in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in English to read and execute LOTO procedures and manuals.
• Good eye-hand-foot coordination and ability to report issues clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate bagging and baler machinery and assist with other production areas as needed.
• Move and wrap completed products and stack on pallets.
• Maintain clean workstation and follow safety guidelines; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Assist Shift Leads with starting/stopping pellet mills and addressing moisture/material issues.
• Complete production reports and ensure proper quality control tagging.

Production Worker / Packaging Operator

Salary:$20/hour

Shift:6p - 6a, rotating days of the week

Job Type:Full time

Production Worker / Packaging Operator Responsibilities:

• The packaging operator is required to perform two functions: the bagging operation and the baler operation. The packaging operator must maintain the ability to perform both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads
• Operate machinery in a productive manner using the established safety guidelines and procedures.
• Responsible for assisting other production areas, as needed.
• Move and wrap completed products.
• Will be lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day
• Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
• Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
• Maintain a clean workstation.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Bagging Operation:

• Responsible for operating a variety of machinery, primarily bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer.
• Stacking bags on pallets, putting covers on pallets and placing finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
• Position requires accurate completion of the Bagger production report, filling pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information, and tagging pallet with Quality Control tag with initials, date, ton number, and the shift the pallet was completed.

The Baler Operation:

• Stacking bales on pallets, sealing bales with an iron, and wrapping pallets.
• Position requires accurate completion of the Baler Operator production report, checking bale weight, and recording information on various reports and quality control tags.

Production Worker / Packaging Operator Qualifications/Education:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
• Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audio alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in English to accurately read, interpret, and execute equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and machine operation manuals.
• Sufficient English verbal skills to clearly and instantly report machine malfunctions, near-misses, or unsafe floor conditions to supervisors and team members.
• This role operates in the immediate vicinity of fast-moving, heavy automated equipment. Clear, real-time communication and strict adherence to English-language safety signage are mandatory for workplace safety.
• Will require good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
• Will need to pass the company forklift training.
• Required to read and interpret scales.
• Requires mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust the weight and timing of baler and various other simple maintenance problems.
• Requires the ability to do simple math calculations.
