Lignetics, Inc. is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to lead the 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. rotating shift on our wood pellet production line in Kentucky. You will guide the crew, uphold safety protocols, and drive production efficiency while maintaining quality and cost controls.

The role requires 3–5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in wood pellet production, with strong English communication and teamwork. On-site work with comprehensive benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Coach, lead, and manage the production crew to meet safety and quality standards
• Ensure a safe operating environment and enforce the Lignetics Safety System
• Set shift standards for housekeeping, quality, and productivity
• Monitor shift performance and coordinate improvement initiatives
• Maintain production and downtime records and operator logs
• Oversee operations of pellet and related systems
• Cover for absences as relief for the team
• Report incidents and root causes; correct as needed

Production Shift Supervisor

Job Type: Full Time

Shift Schedule: 6a - 6:30p, rotating days of the week

Salary: $30 - $31/hour

Production Shift Supervisor Job Summary: The Shift Leader works side by side their assigned manufacturing team to coordinate the production of the highest quality wood pellet in the safest and most cost-effective manner possible.

Essential Functions:

• Is the Coach, Leader and Manager of the production crew


• Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of themselves and all other employees working on their shift. This includes always maintaining an organized and safe operating environment and driving the Lignetics Safety System at the crew level.

Responsible for setting the standards on the shift for housekeeping, quality and productivity

• Responsible for regular monitoring of the shift performance and the communication/coordination of improvement initiatives.


• Responsible for administering the personal development program for the team.


• Responsible for the operations of the green in feed system, dryer system, dry hammer mill system, kiln dried system, pellet mills and all other associated equipment.


• Responsible for keeping accurate production and down time records, including the operator logs.


• Monitors the quality test results and corrects the root cause of any incident that is outside of their specified ranges.


• Will be qualified as relief in all positions and will cover for absences on the team such as vacation, sickness and other excused absences.


• Other tasks as directed by the Production Manager

Production Shift Supervisor Job Requirements:

• Individual must have great communication skills, be willing to flex their leadership style as needed and must be comfortable holding the team to a standard.


• Individual must be able to motivate a team.


• Individual should have continuous improvement mindset.


• 3-5 years leadership experience, ideally in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. Direct wood pellet manufacturing experience preferred.


• Prior experience in manufacturing process trouble shooting desired; demonstrated delegation and problem-solving abilities preferred.


• Ability to coach, train and mentor.


• Good communication and documentation skills.


• Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audio alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.


• Proficient in English to accurately read, interpret, and execute equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and machine operation manuals.


• Sufficient English verbal skills to clearly and instantly report machine malfunctions, near-misses, or unsafe floor conditions to supervisors and team members.


• This role operates in the immediate vicinity of fast-moving, heavy automated equipment. Clear, real-time communication and strict adherence to English-language safety signage are mandatory for workplace safety.

Physical Demands:

• Will need to be ready to walk / stand 80% of the time, traversing from building to building with ease.


• Will need to be ready to change positions often; Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed.


• Will need to be ready to visually observe, inspect equipment and surroundings.


• Will be lifting a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.
