Job summary

Valto, Inc. in Illinois is seeking a production worker for the night shift (Mon-Thu 6pm-6am). Pay ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour, with a night shift differential.

You will learn and apply safety guidelines, operate basic packaging and trimming equipment, and contribute to quality on the line. Responsibilities include labeling, stacking finished material, packaging, operating trim choppers and trash compactor, maintaining a clean area, and training other line personnel while contributing

Qualifications

• Must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and hazards for the line.
• Overhead crane trained (where applicable).
• Able to safely use and demonstrate tools like utility knife and power tools.
• Maintain good attendance and a positive attitude.
• Understand production run sheets and material handling.
• Know proper disposal of chemicals and waste on the line.

Responsibilities

• Assist Coiler or stack finished material by grade and location.
• Ensure products meet Quality System requirements.
• Package and band materials; build skids as needed.
• Operate trim choppers, trim winder, and trash compactor.
• Ensure tools and materials are safe and available.
• Maintain a clean work area throughout the day.
• Report issues to Group Leader and train others on back end of line.
• Support 5S and TPM compliance.

Salary Range: $19.00 up to $21.00 (+ night shift differential)

Monday-Thursday 6pm-6am

POSITION DEMANDS:

• Ability to read a tape measure

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Coiler or stack all finished material including: labeling, maintaining counts, and placing material in proper location by grade.
• Ensure product conforms to the requirements of the Quality System and are acceptable for our customer’s use.
• Properly package and band all materials, build skids as required.
• Operate trim choppers, trim winder, Trash Compactor.
• Ensure proper tools, equipment and materials are available for packaging and are in safe operating order.
• Maintain clean work area throughout the work day
• Ability to understand Production run sheet
• Report all issues to the Group Leader.
• Assist and / or train all personnel assigned to the back end of the line.
• Responsible for 5S and TPM compliance.
