Job summary

Civil Recruit seeks a Dairy Process Operator for our Bellevue, WA location. The position starts as a 90-day temp-to-perm role, onsite at the Bellevue Milk Plant. Candidates with a Pasteurizer license receive a wage premium; those without license earn a lower rate.

Shifts include Swing and Grave, with overtime possible. You will monitor production, follow SOPs, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma required and forklift/pallet jack experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pasturization/dairy process equipment experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and measurements accurately.

Responsibilities

• Monitor dairy production processes and follow SOPs for batching and processing.
• Maintain communication with departments and notify management of issues affecting production.
• Document information in line with laws and company policies.
• Monitor fats, solids, allergens, and related processing parameters.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP and hand cleaning.
• Operate and clean equipment to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Analyze process and equipment data to improve quality and throughput.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and safety protocols.
• Support food safety and quality programs for the designated area.
• Report food safety and quality issues to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain a safety-first mindset.

Overview

This role is 90 days temp to perm. If candidates is hired, they must join the onsite union.

Location for role is Bellevue Milk Plant: 1500 - 124th Ave., N.E., Bellevue, WA, 98005

Submission Rate for candidates with Pasteurizer's License up to $34.00 p/h

Submission Rate for candidates without a Pasteurizer's License up to $30.00 p/h

Shifts:

• 1 Swing Shift (2pm to 10:30pm) Schedule will be Monday through Friday
• 1 Grave Shift (10pm to 6:30am) Schedule will be Sunday through Thursday
• Candidates must be flexible for overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

• Closely monitor the dairy production process and follow Standard Operating Procedures for batching and processing products.
• Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with Federal, State, and Company Laws/Policies.
• Monitor fats, total solids, allergens, and other related items as they associate with processing dairy products.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP & hand cleaning.
• Operate and clean equipment with a sense of urgency to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
• Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Follow all required work safe practices.
• Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must always maintain and promote a safe working environment and have a safety-first mindset.
• Follow and maintain 5S standards for work areas and comply with company GMP standards.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• If candidate has a Pasteurizers License the manager is looking for a minimum of 6 - 12 months operating pasteurization or dairy process equipment.
• If candidate does not have a Pasteurizers License the manager is looking for a minimum of 12 months operating pasteurization or dairy process equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and instructions accurately.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Candidate must have previous experience with pallet jacks and forklift.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Perform basic math with ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Stand/walk almost the entire workday.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
