Job summary

Owens Corning is hiring a Production Associate for the 3rd shift in Tiffin, OH. The role operates presses, assists machine operators, and handles packaging of parts. You will follow safety rules, maintain 100% attendance, and work in a collaborative team environment.

Minimum 18 years old with a HS diploma or GED and 3–6 months related experience or training. The position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid after milestones and requires willingness to work Sunday through Thursday, 9:30 PM to 6:00

Responsibilities

• Operate presses and assist machine operators; remove parts and package them.
• Follow all safety guidelines and use PPE as required.
• Maintain regular attendance and work efficiently to meet goals.
• Communicate with team, understand work orders, and prep materials for packaging.
• Package parts, label and store them for the next operation.
• Identify unsafe conditions and keep work area clean and organized.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Leader.

Reports to : 3rd Shift Supervisor

Location : Tiffin, OH

Pay Rate : $ 17.50/hr - Plus $1/hr shift premium.

Hours : Sunday thru Thursday 9:30pm – 6am (OT as Needed)

Sign On Bonus: $1,000 to be paid out as follows

• $500 at 90 Days
• $500 at 180 Days

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• The employee works at presses, assists machine operators, removes parts from press, separates parts from scrap, assembles parts, stacks or packages parts and operates equipment.
• Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment when required
• Regular attendance is essential
• Works in a team environment and ensures helpers understand their role, knows what precautions are necessary and location of emergency stop buttons
• Understands and interprets company work orders and job control procedures
• Works efficiently and accurately to achieve and maintain 100% of goals. Gets or requests materials needed, assembles totes, prepares skids, bags and boxes for packaging
• Packages specific number of parts on skids, in bags, boxes, etc., labels them, stacks bags of parts on racks, or in appropriate packaging and moves totes/skids of parts to a storage area or to the next operation
• Ensures that safety devices are in place and reports any unsafe behavior or situation
• Is aware of activities in working surroundings and is responsible for keeping the area clean, tidy, and safe
• Other tasks as assigned by Leader

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure instructions.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; read.
• Attention to detail a must

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Strong decision-making skills
• Ability to accomplish tasks without direct supervision.

Math Skills

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications

Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Standing/walking for 8 – 12 hours at a time
• Exposure to noise is usually moderate
• Bending, twisting and turning
• Full use of both hands – to handle, feel objects, tools, controls, etc.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
