Job summary

SONOCO CANADA is seeking a Production Worker in Merced, CA to operate production equipment safely on the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–12:00 AM, Mon-Fri). Training will occur on 1st shift for about a month before transferring to the 2nd shift. Overtime and Saturday work may be required. Wage starts at $23.65 plus a $0.40 shift premium.

The role involves following SOPs, aiding in manufacturing processes, and aiming to meet plant goals and customer requirements with safety as a top priority.

Location: Merced, CA | Position: Production Worker | Shift: 2nd – 3:30pm – 12:00am (Monday‑Friday). Overtime and Saturdays may be required. Training will be on 1st shift for approximately one month before moving to 2nd shift. Wage: $23.65 plus a $0.40 shift premium for the 2nd shift.

Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, a Production Worker is responsible for the safe operation of production equipment using standard operating procedures. The role includes aiding in various areas of the manufacturing process as directed and striving to meet plant goals and customer requirements. Safety is the top priority for every employee.

Responsibilities

• Catch, bundle, and stack partitions.
• Catch strips and feed hoppers properly.
• Determine bad partitions and separate them from quality product.
• Aiding in various areas of the manufacturing process as directed.
