Job summary

Seidel Tanning Corp. in Milwaukee, WI is hiring Production Workers for our leather factory. You will load, unload, and move leather through the production departments, operate and monitor machinery after training, and help maintain clean, organized work areas.

The job is physically demanding—standing for full shifts, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in warm, humid areas. We provide training, PPE, and opportunities to grow with a family-owned operation that has served Milwaukee since 1945.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior manufacturing, warehouse, or trades experience is a plus but not required. We will train.
• Able to stand for a full shift and regularly lift 50 pounds.
• The work is physical, and some areas are warm, humid, and wet.
• Dependable attendance and a good work ethic.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job right.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move leather through the production departments, including drums, splitting and shaving, drying, staking, buffing, finishing, and sorting and packing.
• Operate and monitor production machinery once trained.
• Follow job specifications and quality standards for each order.
• Check work for defects and report problems to the supervisor.
• Record counts and job information as material moves between departments.
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts to move material.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Work with the crew to meet daily production targets.
• Take part in training and learn new machines and processes.
