Position: Production Worker
Location: Gastonia, NC
Address: 1302 Industrial Pike Road, Gastonia, NC 28052
Available shifts: Second shift, 3pm-11pm
Wage: $18.04/hr

*Must be willing and flexible to work overtime when needed.*

Reporting to the shift supervisor, you will work in our tube and core division, focusing on fast, safe production. Excellent attendance is essential. You should have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work with various teams and identify defects in the packing line. Pride in your hands-on, analytical, organizational skills, and attention to detail is important.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other departments and teams
• Think quickly and troubleshoot issues
• Adjust processes, monitor, and report on product quality
• Learn to set up new jobs and train on other lines/departments
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
• Follow supervisor/manager directives
• Support Sonoco's quality and safety policies
• Assist other departments as needed
• Utilize downtime for cleaning and organizing

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing or warehousing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Previous forklift certification and operation experience
• Independent worker with multitasking skills
• Knowledge of products and quality standards
• Reliable, proactive, committed, and quality-focused
• Teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
• Capable of repetitive tasks, including stairs and standing for long periods
• Work quickly with attention to craftsmanship and detail
