Job summary

Norsk Hydro in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Packing Operator for the night shift to process, pack and prepare aluminum extrusions according to customer specs and production needs.

You will operate stretching equipment, load logs with cranes, inspect quality, and coordinate with the packing team to hit productivity targets while following safety procedures. Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• No formal education or previous experience required
• Manufacturing experience is an asset
• Good communication skills in English (spoken and written)

• Follow work instructions, safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Starting Rate of Pay:

$20.00/hour

Shifts Available and Hours:

Night Shift
6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Shift Premium:

$2.00/hour extra for applicable shifts

What you will be doing

• Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate SCS and AS400 systems.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to recognize quality issues and potential hazards.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback.
• Ability to work a full 12-hour shift.
• Ability to work in both hot and cold conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling and repetitive movements.
