Job summary

Norsk Hydro in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a production teammate for the Press department on a permanent, 12-hour shift schedule. You will maintain materials, verify logs, and prepare equipment for operators while following safety and work instructions.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and basic English, with forklift operation experience a plus. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for growth and retirement planning benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Must understand and follow basic English instructions.
• Able to read and understand all work and safety instructions.
• Able to use and maintain basic measuring tools.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and stage material with proper paperwork.
• Check billet/logs availability for daily schedule.
• Verify IDs and billet/logs for each order.
• Prepare racks, skids and baskets for operators.
• Check ovens, load/unload and perform hourly checks.
• Read and follow extrusion press and age oven work instructions.
• Empty scrap and chip hoppers as needed.
• Follow safety and housekeeping specifications.
• Perform minor forklift maintenance and check fluids.
• Complete forklift operator daily inspection report.

Starting Rate of pay: $21.89/hour

Shifts Available and Hours:

12-hour Continental Day/Night shift 6:00 AM – 6:00PM or 6PM to 6AM

What you will be doing

• Maintain and stages material with proper paperwork.
• Check billet/logs availability for daily schedule for due dates.
• Verifies proper ID & selection of billets/logs for each order.
• Ensure that racks, skids and baskets are ready for operators.
• Checks and maintains ovens, loads and unloads ovens, make hourly checks.
• Has read and understand work instructions for extrusion presses and age ovens.
• Empties scrap and chip hoppers as needed.
• Complies with company safety and housekeeping specifications.
• Responsible for minor maintenance on forklift, checks fluid levels and general condition.
• Completes “Lift truck operator’s daily inspection report.”

• Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English.
• Must read and understand all work and safety instructions relevant to theirspecific position.
• Must be able to use and maintain all basic tools and measuring equipmentpertinent to their specific position.
• Must have good driving skills.
