Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking a Production Welder to support in-house welding for cutting edge high-field superconducting magnets. You will weld and inspect large metallic structures, set up welding processes, and read drawings to plan layouts, working to tight timelines and budgets.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of welding experience on large structures, certification in GMAW/GTAW/SMAW, and proven ability to weld stainless steel and copper using GTAW.

Qualifications

• Certification in welding processes such as GMAW, GTAW, SMAW is preferred.
• 5+ years as a welder on large structural systems and tooling.
• Experience welding stainless steel and copper with GTAW.
• Ability to read drawings and plan weld layout.
• Experience with large metallic structures and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Weld and inspect large metallic structures within timelines and budgets.
• Set up welding processes per specifications and select equipment.
• Read drawings and take measurements to plan layout.
• Cut and join material; perform vertical, flat, and overhead welds.
• Provide feedback to design engineers on weld geometry.
