Join the power movement as a Production Welder
We are seeking skilled, safety-focused welders to perform in-house welding for high-field superconducting magnets. Multiple shifts are available (weekday or weekend), and candidates should be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment producing large metallic structures and tooling.
The Schedule
Multiple shifts available: weekday or weekend shift options. (Specific shift schedule to be determined with hiring manager.)
What You'll Do
- - Weld and inspect large metallic structures and tooling within specified timelines and budgets
- - Set up welding processes per specifications; select appropriate equipment and methods
- - Read and analyze drawings; take detailed measurements and plan project layout
- - Cut, fit, and join materials; perform hand and semi-automated welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
- - Utilize advanced welding techniques as required (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, etc.)
- - Provide manufacturability feedback to design engineers regarding weld geometries and material selection
- - Perform welding equipment qualification trials and maintain process documentation
- - Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing discrepancies; drive continuous improvement
- - Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, compliant work area
What We?re Looking For
- - Documented training or certification in many of: blueprint reading and fabrication, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW - 5+ years? experience as a welder on large structural systems and tooling -
- - Experience welding stainless steel and using GTAW to weld copper -
- - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions -
- - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- - Bonus Points For** - Experience in pressure vessel, aerospace, and/or nuclear welding applications
- - Experience with electron beam, laser welding, or mechanized/automated welding equipment
- - Familiarity with welding procedures, qualification records, and non-destructive testing methods
- - Project and time management skills; ability to work unsupervised
Must-have Requirements / Physical Demands
- - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- - Ability to stoop, stand, type, and sit for extended periods as required by the role
- - Dedication to safety working around hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, and cryogenics
- - Willingness to travel occasionally and to work required nights, weekends, or be on-call
Compensation & Benefits
- - Hourly range: $30 - $41/hour + equity + benefits. Actual compensation will depend on level, location,
