Job summary

Afinitas, a global leader in precast concrete infrastructure, seeks a dedicated welder/assembler for the night shift in Sleepy Eye, MN. Roles include operating forklifts and hand tools, welding, and assembling cage components for manufacturing lines.

You will set up equipment, read measurements, and maintain safety while contributing to various cage fabrication tasks with strong teamwork and attention to detail. Benefits start day one and a comprehensive package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Prior forklift experience a plus; able to use hand tools and read measurements.

Responsibilities

• Operate light, medium and heavy equipment including forklift.

• Maintain equipment and perform daily inspections.
• Learn welding procedures and set up mandrels for cage production.
• Place steel reinforcements and manage ongoing production tasks.
• Keep workstation clean and follow safety procedures.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Night shift: M-TH 7:00pm - 6:00am with a 30 minute meal break.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Operation of light, medium and heavy equipment including forklift.
• Operation of various hand-operated tools related to steel fabrication.
• Maintains equipment and performs daily inspections of equipment.
• Must be able to use welding equipment or the ability to learn welding procedures.
• Set up equipment including mandrels and the loading of the raw materials that are needed in the manufacturing process of cone cages and flared end cages.
• Place steel reinforcements in mandrels in the production process of items.
• Clean and maintain workstation to be used daily in the production process.
• Performs special projects or assignments as directed.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2 years' experience welding.
• Prior forklift and operator experience a plus.
• Able to use hand tools.
• Mathematics skills and be able to read a measuring tape.
• Team oriented.
• Communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.

Compensation

The approximate pay range for this position is $20-22/hour + $2/hr shift differential for working night shift. Ability to make piece rate on top of hourly wage. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
