Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a production associate at the Rocky Mount, North Carolina facility to support cleanroom operations and garment processing. You will gown in appropriate cleanroom attire, sort items, run washers and dryers, and ensure proper packaging per work orders.

Excellent attention to detail and physical stamina are required. The role offers a range of employee benefits and the opportunity for growth within a family-oriented company.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- or three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers; ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; work with money, weight, volume, and distance.

Responsibilities

• Sort articles by item and material type.
• Gown in clean-room garments with a hood, coverall, boots and gloves.
• Follow best practices for clean-room environments.
• Weigh articles, load washer, and start washer.
• Remove clean, wet articles from washer and place them into dryers.
• Inspect for damage and mend torn/damaged articles as needed.
• Bundle/package articles according to work orders.

Education and/or Experience

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
