Job summary

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a Production worker for UniClean Cleanroom Services in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role focuses on cleanroom garment handling, washing, drying, and packaging of articles in a controlled environment on the 1st shift.

Ideal candidates will have a basic education with the ability to follow procedures, perform simple math and measurements, and lift up to 50 pounds. This full-time position offers a stable career with opportunities for growth in a leading garment

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Sort articles by item and material type.
  • Gown in clean-room garments with required PPE.
  • Follow best practices for clean-room environments.
  • Weigh articles, load washer, start washer.
  • Remove clean articles and place into dryers for cycles.
  • Prepare packaging and inspect for damage.
  • Mend torn/damaged articles as necessary.
  • Bundle articles according to work orders.

Responsibilities
  • Sort articles by item and material type.
  • Gown in clean-room garments with a minimum of a hood, coverall, boots and gloves.
  • Follow best practices for clean-room environments.
  • Weigh articles, load articles into washer, start washer.
  • Remove clean, wet articles from washer and place them into dryers for measured time cycles.
  • Turn/right articles as necessary in preparation of packaging. Inspect for damage.
  • Mend torn/damaged articles as necessary.
  • Bundle/package articles to in accordance with work order requirements.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two-three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.
