Job summary

Greif, a global leader in packaging solutions, is seeking a Production Trainer for the 3rd shift. You will deliver hands-on training to line operators, coaching them on standard operating procedures, safety, and quality.

You will document qualifications, monitor performance, and partner with plant leadership to drive continuous improvement. Typically a high school diploma and 2–4 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• 2-4 years of relevant training or production experience desirable.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety rules in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on training to line operators and production staff on procedures and safety.
• Coach and qualify employees on SOPs, quality standards, and safe work practices.
• Instruct on housekeeping and 5S workplace organization for safety and efficiency.
• Train on inspecting, measuring, and weighing plastic bottles to meet specs.
• Monitor trainee performance and provide feedback and follow-up.
• Maintain training records and production documentation.
• Report quality concerns and production issues affecting output.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on training for line operators and other production roles, ensuring employees can safely and effectively perform assigned job functions.
• Train, coach, and qualify new and existing employees on standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices.
• Instruct team members on proper housekeeping expectations and reinforce workplace organization standards that support safety and efficiency.
• Train employees to accurately inspect, measure, and weigh plastic bottles to ensure compliance with product specifications, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
• Monitor trainee performance and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and follow‑up support to promote skill development and job proficiency.
• Maintain accurate training records, qualification documentation, and other required operational records.
• Complete and maintain production logs and documentation related to units produced and operational activities.
• Identify, document, and report quality concerns, defects, and production issues that result in rejected or discarded product.
• Serve as a subject matter resource for operators, answering questions and providing guidance on processes, equipment, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Partner with supervisors and plant leadership to support workforce development, onboarding initiatives, and performance improvement efforts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by helping standardize work methods, sharing best practices, and promoting consistency across shifts and departments.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and safe performance.
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and leadership by serving as a positive role model for all colleagues.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Thorough understanding of production equipment.
• Proven ability to demonstrate and uphold The Greif Way, consistently exhibiting company values and behaviours while fostering a positive, safe, and high‑performing work environment.
• Actively participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives, including CBSQ, GEMBA, and 5S activities, by identifying opportunities for improvement, supporting problem‑solving efforts, maintaining workplace organisation, and promoting operational excellence.

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $18.32 - $31.20annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between18.50 to18.50. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
