Overview

Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a Production Test Technician based in Billerica, MA.

Rapiscan is a leading provider of security inspection solutions utilizing advanced technologies such as X-ray, computed tomography, ion mobility spectrometry, radiation detection, and optical inspection. Our products and services support security in ports, borders, aviation, military, law enforcement, and other critical infrastructure sectors.

The Production Test Technician will be responsible for testing and controlling components, subassemblies, and assembled products related to X-ray inspection systems. This includes calibration, troubleshooting, testing, and process improvement to meet team objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Set up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, and assemblies.
2. Work with electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical test fixtures; assist in future design improvements.
3. Follow test specifications, methods, and procedures from drawings and diagrams.
4. Test and troubleshoot components, assemblies, and systems; perform rework as needed.
5. Prepare reports summarizing findings, analysis, and recommendations.
6. Utilize software tools to follow work instructions, review specifications, and manage bills of material.
7. Assist in selecting and setting up specialized test equipment.
8. Collaborate on deploying testing practices for new products.

10. Report quality issues to management for corrective action.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's Degree or technical diploma preferred.
2. 2+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting large military or industrial equipment.
3. Proficiency with oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
4. Ability to install and configure computer hardware and software.
5. Strong assembly skills and knowledge of industry tools and nomenclature.
6. Self-motivated with a desire to improve processes.
7. Experience with Excel, ERP, and work instruction software; knowledge of AS9100 is a plus.
