Job Details

Job Title: Production Tech / Operator

Locations: Plainfield and Montgomery, Illinois

Shift: 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Role Purpose

The Production Operator is responsible for maintaining and achieving all production goals and productivity to ensure complete customer satisfaction through production value and employee effectiveness.

Essential Functions

• Follow packaging instructions to properly complete a pack out.
• Assist with equipment cleaning and department sanitation procedures.
• Review and complete assigned work orders.
• Assemble boxes and other packaging materials.
• Assist with warehouse, production, and rail yard sanitation.
• Inspect products for contamination and remove if necessary.
• Assist with floor loads, restacking projects, and repacks (e.g., box to bag, box to box, super sack to box).
• Assist with railcar/container hook-ups and bulk truck repacks.
• Participate in recycling programs, including gathering and bailing materials.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly.
• Operate a sit-down forklift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED; three months or more related experience or training.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, and manuals.
• Basic arithmetic skills and routine correspondence writing ability.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 55 lbs.
• Use hands for handling objects and controls.
• Occasionally reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Stand for 8+ hours per day.
• Occasionally move up and down stairs.
