Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. in California is seeking a Production Technician to operate equipment that manufactures plastic containers for leading consumer brands.

You will monitor processes, adjust heat, water cooling, and hydraulic settings to ensure high-quality bottles in a climate-controlled facility. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and conduct quality checks on weights and dimensions, with opportunities for training and career advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Manufacturing Production Technician.
• Working knowledge of injection, extrusion or blow molding equipment preferred.
• Hydraulics, pneumatics & electrical mechanical basic knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot & problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Operate injection, extrusion or blow-molding equipment in a clean, climate-controlled environment.
• Monitor equipment and adjust settings (heat control, water cooling temps, hydraulic pressure) to produce high-quality containers.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Assure Plastipak customer requirements are met by performing quality checks for weights and dimensions.

As a Production Technician, you operate equipment to manufacture plastic containers for leading consumer brands. • You Will Operate a variety of top-of-the-line injection, extrusion or blow-molding manufacturing equipment in a clean, safe & climate-controlled environment
• Monitor equipment, making adjustments to settings (heat control, water cooling temperatures, hydraulic pressure, etc.) to produce high-quality rigid plastic containers
• Troubleshoot equipment & perform routine preventative maintenance
• Assure Plastipak customer requirements are met by performing quality checks for specifications, such as bottle weights & dimensions
• Join with your team to identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality & scrap reduction
• Grow your skills through formal & side‑by‑side training, and have opportunities for career advancement

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Manufacturing Production Technician working with equipment used for high-volume production
• Working knowledge of injection, extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred
• Hydraulics, pneumatics & electrical mechanical basic knowledge
• Ability to troubleshoot & problem solve
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and up to 70 lbs. with a team lift, with or without a reasonable accommodation

You’ll Earn $21.00 per hour & up, based on experience Shift Differential: 2nd shift: $0.75 per hour; Night shift: $1.25 per hour
