Job summary

LaMotte Company, a century-old water analysis technology leader, seeks a full-time Manufacturing Operator in Chestertown, MD. You will operate and maintain equipment, log performance data, and assist in setup while adhering to lean practices and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High school chemistry or general chemical handling work experience is preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Good judgment, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team and work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with production personnel, R&D, and Quality Control.
• Ability to wear chemical cartridge respirator or equivalent.
• Must be able to transport up to 40–50 lbs.
• Participates in lean activities, including kaizen or a 5-day event, 5-S, DMAICs.
• Completes monthly safety observations.
• Notifies Supervisors/Managers of issues and cooperates in resolution.
• Assists in other department activities as needed.
• Complies with all Company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains manufacturing equipment with proper training.
• Maintains accurate records including machine performance and product samples.
• Assists in daily equipment setup for any machine.
• Attends and participates in designated shift huddles.
• Ensures production rates and quality standards are met and addresses issues.
• Transports product using pallet jacks and carts.
