Job summary

Caterpillar Seguin, TX is seeking a dynamic Production Technician III to join the Power Generation team, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting diesel generators. You will help develop other technicians’ skills while contributing to innovative engine assembly processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation includes $20.50 hourly start, 2nd shift 10% premium, and comprehensive benefits. Training on 1st shift through Dec 2026.

Qualifications

  • 6 months of manufacturing experience or a relevant college degree
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with others
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret English documents
  • Experience with computers and Microsoft Office is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Align and secure engine components according to work instructions
  • Install gaskets, seals, wiring, hoses, covers, and visual components
  • Ensure parts and materials used in assembly are defect-free
  • Assist in problem-solving and improvement initiatives across departments
  • Verify alignment of engine components using schematics and part prints
  • Inspect parts and materials for quality defects
  • Conduct audits and quality inspections to address known defects
  • Perform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspections on engines
  • Train and develop new team members as needed

Additional Information
  • $20.50 hourly starting wage
  • 2nd Shift will receive a 10% shift premium.
  • Schedule: Monday- Thursday, 4:18pm-2:48am. Overtime asrequired.

What you will do
  • Align and secure engine components according to work instructions
  • Install gaskets, seals,wiring, hoses, covers, and visual components
  • Ensure parts and materials used in assembly are defect-free
  • Assistin problem-solving and improvement initiatives across departments
  • Verifycorrectalignment of engine components using schematics and part prints
  • Inspect parts and materials for quality defects
  • Conduct audits and quality inspections to address known defects
  • Perform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspections on engines
  • Submit and support resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards
  • Assistin problem-solving and improvement initiatives across departments
  • Escalate issues and the necessary resources to root cause and develop counter measures
  • Collaborate with other departments to address assembly-related challenges and suggest improvements
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific instructions
  • Train and develop new team members as needed
  • Provide information to supervisors and managersregardingprocesses in the assigned area
  • Occasionallyparticipatein training and development
  • Perform any other assigned duties
What you will have
  • Minimum of6months' experiencein a manufacturing work environment or relevant college degree
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Abilityto work well with others
  • Ability to work autonomously & take initiative
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
  • Intermediateexperience withcomputers, tablets, and with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Previousexperience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures
What would make you a top candidate
  • At least 1-years’ experience assembling products
  • Previousexperience reading complex electrical assembly instructions
  • Previousexperience utilizing PLEX
  • Previousexperience with similar electrical cabinet (repair or assembly)
  • Previousexperience and/or certification in operating forklifts, tugger, and/or other power equipment
  • Previousexperience leading/training others in a formal or informal capacity
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability tolift upto 35 lbs.
