Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Team Lead in Seguin, Texas to support the Industrial Power Systems Division. You will lead the Logistics/Supply Chain team, ensuring safe, efficient operations and accuracy in inventory processes for diesel engines and generators.

The role requires forklift and PIT experience, strong communication, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. A shift premium applies and relocation sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in warehouse/supply chain environment or leadership experience
• OSHA Certification(s)
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English

Responsibilities

• Lead the team and train/certify employees to ensure proficiency
• Uphold safety guidelines and 5S standards in the workplace
• Provide process information and escalate issues to Logistics Manager/engineers
• Fill team positions and perform various tasks as needed
• Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconcile parts per IRA processes
• Use inventory systems (PLEX) for counts and reconciliation
• Perform root cause analysis of defects found in counts and audits
• Provide PIT (Power Industrial Truck) training and certify operators
• Document and retain PIT certification records
• Ship/receive parts and verify invoices for inventory accuracy
• Ensure received/delivered materials are defect-free
• Collaborate across departments for problem-solving and improvements
• Submit and assist CI initiatives and follow SOPs
• Execute daily tasks and special projects assigned by Production Manager
• Conduct team meetings and maintain effective inter-department communication

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in Seguin, Texas as a Team Lead for the Industrial Power Systems Division. As a team lead you will support our Logistics Department/Supply Chain, provide day-to-day leadership of the assigned team to ensure the team safely and efficiently performs the activities related to the supply chain, logistics, and analytical work to produce Caterpillar diesel engines and generators, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. What you will do:

• Lead the work and train and/or certify employees, ensuring their proficiency
• Champion the adherence to safety guidelines as well as 5S, a system that helps organize and maintain a productive work environment
• Provide process-related information and escalation of issues to Logistics Manager, engineers, and/or maintenance departments
• Ability to fill any team position and accomplish various tasks
• Perform cycle counts, inventory audits and reconciliation of parts according to the IRA processes and procedures
• Use manufacturing or inventory systems (i.e. PLEX and MAMM) for inventory count reconciliation
• Complete root cause analysis of defects discovered in the cycle count, audit and reconcile processes
• Provide adequate training related to PIT (Power Industrial Truck) operations
• Provide documentation and accurate record retention of PIT certifications
• Ship and receive parts and verify invoices to ensure inventory accuracy
• Ensure that materials received and delivered are free from quality defects
• Collaborate with other departments for problem-solving and process improvement
• Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
• Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions
• Execute daily work assignments and special projects directed by the Production Manager
• Facilitate employee training for processes and certifications
• Maintain effective communication within the team and across departments
• Assisting in leading various team meetings for the assigned area
• Perform other assigned duties

What you will have:

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in warehouse/supply chain work environment, leadership experience or relevant college degree or combination of experiences
• Previous experience and/or certification in operating forklifts, tugger, and/or other power equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
• Proficiency in PLEX menus (control panel, check sheets, inventory search, rejection logs, etc.)
• Intermediate experience with computers, inventory management software, and Excel
• Ability to handle departmental delegation during issue resolution
• Flexibility in shift and/or value stream assignments
• Initiative and willingness to speak up

What would make you a top candidate:

• At least 1-years’ experience in material handling, inventory management, or supply chain working environments
• At least 1-years’ leadership experience in a formal or informal capacity, preferably in a logistics/supply chain environment
• OSHA Certification(s)
• Lean manufacturing experience or Six Sigma Certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:

• Shift will receive a shift premium of 10%

Summary Pay Range:

$22.00 - $28.50
