General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in US-AR-Hampton (Camden, AR) is seeking a Production Technician II to set up and operate production equipment, following blueprints and SOPs to ensure quality. The position requires vocational/technical training with 1–2 years' experience or an equivalent combination.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree with 1–2 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate's Degree preferred as per qualifications.
• Technical training with ability to read blueprints, SOPs and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble products.
• Uses specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and SOPs to produce products.
• Monitors output for quality and conformance to metrics.
• Prepares and maintains records of production activities and reports issues.
• Adheres to safety guidelines for material handling and PPE.
• Studies time, motion, methods and speed to improve efficiency.
• Establishes standard production rates for maintenance, production and clerical work.
• Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and layout.

General Profile:

Essential Functions

• Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
• Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
• Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
• Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
• Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
• Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
• Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
• Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.

Required Qualifications

• Education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree
• Major: Technical training preferred
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise, ability to identify and seek needed information, research skills, problem-solving skills, machine operation, machine programming, manufacturing, numerical control, precision measurement, quality inspection, reading blueprints/diagrams, safety policies and procedures, record keeping, standard operating procedures (SOP).

Physical Requirements

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.
