Responsibilities

• Monitors results of inline monitoring equipment – identifying non-conforming product and segregating it.
• Manually trays product off of the extrusion line when automation is not available, recording traceability data.
• Manually boxes/bags product off the extrusion line when automation is not available, recording traceability data.
• Labels product for final release while ensuring traceability of the product.
• Perform quick visual inspection of tubing as it comes off the conveyor belt.
• Notify the Production Operator or Supervisor of any defects that deviate from specifications.
• Staging raw material and tooling per the production schedule to support operators.
• Purging extrusion lines and setting up the production line for the next work order.
• Cleaning extrusion tanks and performing preventive maintenance as needed.
• Contributing to improving production efficiency and reducing rejects.
• Supporting on-time delivery goals and customer satisfaction.
• Training new team members on policies and procedures as required.
• Handling trays and packaging equipment used for traying/packaging as necessary.
• Maintaining routine work area cleanliness and tray washing.

Position Summary

The Production Technician I position is responsible for various production support tasks. This position is responsible for handling the product off the extrusion line (putting into trays, boxing/bagging product). Production Technicians will be responsible for monitoring inline measuring equipment to ensure that any non conforming product is segregated and eliminated. The Production Technician I will also support line change reductions – staging raw material, gathering/staging tooling, purging extrusion machines, etc. The Production Technician I will also support tank washing and other extrusion preventive maintenance activities as needed. This job operates in a controlled manufacturing environment designed for sustained production. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

• Train on new policies and procedures as dictated by customer or departmental requirements
• Utilize specific equipment related to traying/handling/packaging as necessary
• Perform routine work area clean-up and tray washing
• Provide training for new team members as assigned
• Employee may be responsible for moving and/or lifting trays that weigh approximately 6 pounds when empty
• Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors
• Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision
