Job summary

The Village Companies – MCL Industries Division in Pulaski, Wisconsin is seeking a Production Technician to assemble, test, inspect, and package electrical components for a variety of end-use applications. You will follow standard work instructions, uphold quality standards, and adhere to safety guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Assemble electrical components, harnesses, switches, modules per work instructions.
  • Perform soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
  • Operate production equipment and hand/power tools safely.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections for quality.
  • Perform functional testing and troubleshoot electrical assemblies.
  • Document production and quality records accurately.
  • Maintain 5S lean practices at workstations.
  • Collaborate with team to meet production schedules.

Hours & Pay

Schedule: Monday–Thursday 5:00am–3:30pm
Pay Range: $18.00-20.00 per hour based on experience

Position Summary

The Production Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and packaging electrical components and assemblies used in a variety of end‑use applications. This position supports production goals by following standardized work instructions, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to all safety requirements. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high‑quality products in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble electrical components, harnesses, switches, modules, and related products according to work instructions and engineering specifications.
  • Perform soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical assembly operations as required.
  • Operate production equipment, hand tools, power tools, and testing devices safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct in‑process and final inspections to verify product quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of electrical assemblies.
  • Identify and report quality concerns, equipment malfunctions, and safety issues.
  • Complete production documentation, quality records, and work orders accurately.
  • Maintain workstations using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, quality personnel, maintenance technicians, and supervisors to meet production schedules.
Requirements
Education/Training:
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components and wiring practices.
  • Ability to use measuring devices and inspection tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable: must have excellent attendance
Preferred
  • Soldering, wiring, or electrical assembly experience.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Experience using ERP or manufacturing production systems.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity required for handling small electrical components and tools.
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and identify small component markings.
  • Safety-Sensitive Position: The Production Technician position is considered a safety-sensitive position. Employees are responsible for operating and working around manufacturing equipment, power tools, moving machinery, and material handling devices where inattentiveness or inability to safely perform assigned duties could result in injury to themselves or others. Employees must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, and must consistently demonstrate the ability to work safely, follow safety policies, and maintain situational awareness in a manufacturing environment. Safety performance is a critical component of successful job performance in this role.
Materials and Equipment Utilized:
  • Hand tools, Assembly Equipment, Metrology Equipment applicable to the industry, Computer and Testing Equipment.
  • Safety equipment: Safety glasses, hearing protection as required, cut resistant gloves as required and steel toes in required area. Electrostatic discharge equipment may be required in designated areas.
Working Environment:
  • 100% - Manufacturing environment; clean, low to moderate noise, safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment where applicable
