Job Overview:

Production Technician- Sumner, WA

The Production Technician I is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to maximize production and maintain KDP’s high standards in safety and quality. This role supports manufacturing process improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and growth.

Shift and Schedule:

This full-time position in Sumner, WA involves 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotation from 5pm to 5:15am. Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors at all times.
2. Understand and help improve quality systems and policies, including Quality Data System, Safe Quality Food, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
3. Learn to operate and monitor high-speed production equipment safely.
4. Resolve production line issues, develop standard work, track production data, and participate in lean management processes.
5. Engage in formal problem-solving with team members.
6. Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.
7. Demonstrate KDP values: Team First, Deliver Big, Think Bold, Being Fearless, and Fair.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to quickly learn processing and packaging equipment; mechanical understanding or manufacturing experience preferred.
2. Self-motivated team player with decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
3. Comfort with basic computer functions and quick learner of production software.
4. Basic mathematical skills for production calculations.

Total Rewards:

• Starting pay at $23.94/hour plus up to a $3.00 shift differential. After 6 months, pay increases to $25.13/hour.

Requirements:

1. Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
2. Ability to bend, stretch, and stand for entire shift.
3. Frequent kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stooping, twisting, and overhead reaching.
4. Work in various temperature and humidity conditions.
