Job summary

Linde plc is seeking a skilled Process / Plant Engineer to monitor and optimize industrial gas production facilities in the Phoenix area. You will manage DCS-based operations, track performance, and execute startup/shutdown procedures while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will perform rounds, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with customer teams to meet supply needs and maintain gas purity. A technical degree with several years of industrial experience is preferred, along with on-call

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or degree in Process Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years hands-on experience in an industrial facility environment.
  • Experience in gas plants, petrochemical, chemical, semiconductor or related process industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with air separation technology, gas compression, and cryogenic systems.
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC, plant instrumentation, and process controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills in control room and field operations.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, equipment and cryogenic gases.
  • Willingness to support on-call rotations, overtime and emergency response activities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control, and optimize plant processes using DCS to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Track operating parameters, alarms, and plant performance; execute start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
  • Perform routine rounds, inspections, and equipment checks on compressors, turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and gas storage systems.
  • Conduct first-line troubleshooting and minor maintenance; report issues to support plant reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental permits, and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain customer gas delivery systems; ensure uninterrupted supply and purity specs.
  • Perform quality checks, monitor gas analyzers, and respond to deviations.
  • Collaborate with customer technical and production teams to address operational requirements.

Job description

  • Track operating parameters, alarms, and plant performance, and execute start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures in accordance with established guidelines
  • Perform routine rounds, inspections, and equipment checks on compressors, turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and gas storage systems
  • Further, you will conduct first-line troubleshooting, minor maintenance activities, and report equipment issues to support plant reliability
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, environmental permits, and operational procedures
  • Operate and maintain customer gas delivery systems, ensuring uninterrupted supply and adherence to product purity specifications
  • And you will perform quality checks, monitor gas analyzers, and respond promptly to operational deviations
  • Collaborate with customer technical and production teams to address operational requirements and resolve supply-related issues
What makes you great
