Job description

Job Overview:

Linde Gas is currently seeking a Production Technician in Columbia City, IN. The production technician will be responsible for a safe, reliable, and efficient operation of (1) Cryogenic Air Separation plant, and (2) VPSA – Low purity Oxygen plants. The role will include, but not be limited to performing routine operating, starting/stopping of equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role requires the demonstrated ability to work across departmental lines.

Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting Electrical Schematics, Process Diagrams, and Electrical One Line Diagrams.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and evaluate equipment performance.
• Perform calibration of process analyzers and have the ability to troubleshoot control systems.
• Have a working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point).
• Monitor process performance and make appropriate adjustments to remedy deviations and align to the specified norm.
• Operate units to continuously supply products in quantities and qualities safely and economically, complying with all environmental regulations, quality standards, and daily customer requirements.
• Safely troubleshoot and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, gas burner systems, and valves.
• Operate forklifts/man-lifts.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections and compliance tasks.
• Good communication skills (inter departmental, team members, contractors, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and endure outdoor environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or technical apprenticeship.
• 5+ years of production operations experience in an industrial environment.
