Basic Function

The Production Technician is supervised by the Production Shift Foreman and receives additional direction from the Production Senior Technician. The primary responsibilities include monitoring equipment and processes, starting up and shutting down equipment, preparing equipment for maintenance, and handling raw materials and finished products.

Know How

• Understanding of process equipment and instrumentation
• Knowledge of process chemistry and physics
• Good communication and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with maintenance procedures and plant policies
• Training in industrial firefighting and ability to perform under stress

Accountabilities

• Monitor plant conditions and report issues
• Complete operational readings and communicate problems
• Investigate and resolve equipment and process issues
• Load/unload materials and maintain a safe, clean work area
• Participate in safety meetings and emergency response
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and perform routine preventive tasks
• Handle waste and ensure safety equipment functionality

Physical Requirements

The role involves physical activities such as bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and walking on uneven surfaces. It requires good hearing and vision, and no sensitivities to chemicals. Responsibilities also include responding to emergency situations, which may involve wearing heavy gear and performing physically demanding tasks.
