Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions vital to their industrial production. We operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S., supplying oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and syngas to major industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, refining, and steel. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are monitored 24/7 from our operations control center in Houston, Texas, overseeing over 89,000 data points to ensure reliable supply and energy efficiency, facilitating growth for our customers.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
- Perform all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation, IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, and plant safety inspections.
- Demonstrate understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures.
- Promote safety awareness by modeling good safety practices and ensuring compliance among contractors, visitors, co-workers, and others, including issuing safe work permits and performing lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Acquire knowledge of all plant operations, including processes and equipment, with some instrumentation and mechanical aptitude.
- Read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and perform basic math operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation following policies and procedures.
- Operate control board and operator interface computer consoles, perform operator rounds, water sampling, truck loading, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain high housekeeping and organizational standards.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Flexibility to fill in for vacations or emergency shift coverage.
- Understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and safety policies.
- Compliance with operating and maintenance procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, hot work, confined space entry, and other safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of plant processes and equipment, environmental permitting, loading/quality assurance, basic electricity, and related regulations.
- Mechanical aptitude, ability to interpret blueprints and schematics, and basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with software applications.
- Must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear PPE including hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
