Job summary

Linde plc East Chicago, IN is seeking a process operations professional to safely operate and control process units in field and control stations. You will monitor plant performance, coordinate work requests, and communicate product and supply status to customers and facility management.

The role includes maintaining production records and contributing to SOP updates. The position requires a strong safety mindset, familiarity with lockout/tagout, and the ability to work rotating shifts including

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to personal safety and environmental accountability.
  • Familiar with lockout/tagout policies and safe work permits.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and safety inspections.
  • Able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to climb, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and control process units and equipment in field and control station.
  • Monitor plant performance for efficiency and identify issues early.
  • Coordinate work requests, permits, and equipment isolations for safe operations.
  • Provide frontline communication to customers and facility management about product and supply status.
  • Maintain production records and implement SOPs for equipment start/stop and reliability.
  • Contribute to updating and improving standard operating procedures.

  • Youwill operate and control process units and equipment both in the field andfrom the control station to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentallyresponsible operations
  • You shall monitor plant performance for efficiency, proactively identifyingand anticipating issues before they arise
  • In this role you will coordinate work requests, permits, and equipmentisolations, ensuring safe return to normal operations
  • Additionally, provide front‑line communication to customers and facilitymanagement regarding product and process conditions and supply status
  • Take responsibility for maintaining production records and implementingstandard operating procedures for starting and stopping major equipment tomaintain reliability and prevent delays
  • Furthermore, exercise sound judgment when making process decisions withinestablished boundaries and contribute to improving and updating standardoperating procedures

  • Assist in the development and execution of safe standard operatingprocedures, work a rotating schedule with on‑call responsibilities, andsupport shift coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Additionally, maintain facility housekeeping, participate in turnaroundplanning and execution, and assist with routine maintenance and processsafety management activities
  • You are recognized for maintaining training compliance
  • You are able to meet the physical requirements of the role, includingconfined space entry, climbing, lifting up to fifty pounds, and working atheights
  • You will be available to work extended hours when business needs arise
  • Furthermore, you demonstrate the flexibility to support weekend, holiday,and call‑in coverage
  • You ensure a reliable and safety‑focused presence during criticaloperational periods
