Job summary

Linde is seeking a Production Technician for Oregon, OH. You will operate and monitor process units, coordinate permits, and maintain SOPs to ensure safe, reliable operations and strong communication with customers and management.

You will support safety programs, wear PPE, and participate in emergency procedures while working a rotating schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Meet physical requirements: confined space entry, climbing, lifting up to fifty pounds, working at heights.
  • Extended hours when needed.
  • Weekend/holiday/on-call coverage.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and Electrical One-Line Diagrams.
  • Foundational physics, chemistry, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mechanical and electrical theories.
  • Functional computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; learn internal systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and control process units and equipment in field and control station.
  • Monitor plant performance for efficiency and identify issues.
  • Coordinate work requests, permits and equipment isolations for safe operation.
  • Provide front-line communication to customers and facility management regarding product and supply status.
  • Maintain production records and SOPs for starting and stopping major equipment.
  • Exercise sound judgment within boundaries and help update SOPs.
  • Commit to safety programs and environmental accountability.
  • Wear PPE, follow lockout/tagout, and manage safe work permits.
  • Be knowledgeable in emergency procedures and support safety initiatives.
  • Develop and execute safe SOPs; rotate schedule with on-call; support shift coverage.
  • Maintain housekeeping, participate in turnaround planning and routine maintenance.
  • Maintain training compliance and presence during critical operations.

Production Technician

Location: Oregon, OH, United States | Job requisition ID: req31196

Responsibilities
  • You will operate and control process units and equipment both in the field and from the control station to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations
  • You shall monitor plant performance for efficiency, proactively identifying and anticipating issues before they arise
  • In this role you will coordinate work requests, permits, and equipment isolations, ensuring safe return to normal operations
  • Additionally, provide front‑line communication to customers and facility management regarding product and process conditions and supply status
  • Take responsibility for maintaining production records and implementing standard operating procedures for starting and stopping major equipment to maintain reliability and prevent delays
  • Furthermore, exercise sound judgment when making process decisions within established boundaries and contribute to improving and updating standard operating procedures
  • You will demonstrate a strong commitment to personal safety, environmental accountability, and adherence to all safety programs and requirements
  • You shall wear required personal protective equipment, comply with lockout and tagout policy, and issue, monitor, and close out safe work and confined space permits
  • In addition you should be knowledgeable and practiced in all emergency procedures while supporting safety initiatives such as safety inspections, incident reporting, and behavior‑based safety programs
  • Assist in the development and execution of safe standard operating procedures, work a rotating schedule with on‑call responsibilities, and support shift coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Additionally, maintain facility housekeeping, participate in turnaround planning and execution, and assist with routine maintenance and process safety management activities
  • You are recognized for maintaining training compliance
  • You ensure a reliable and safety‑focused presence during critical operational periods
