Job summary

CQ Medical is seeking a Production Technician - Layup to build state-of-the-art couch tops for radiation oncology devices. This on-site role requires basic mechanical skills, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and precise attention to templates and dimensions.

You will join a team focused on quality, continuous improvement, and patient-focused manufacturing. The job demands strong safety awareness and teamwork in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to contribute to meaningful cancer care

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience in assembly, maintenance, or related production roles.
  • Ability to read and follow templates, guides or dimensions precisely.
  • Comfort with using basic computer systems for documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble composite parts per specifications on a production line.
  • Prepare molds and forms for layup processes.
  • Mark and cut materials according to templates and dimensions.
  • Layer materials to ensure wrinkle-free, accurate build-up.
  • Verify final part size and conformity to standards.
  • Identify quality issues and assist in root cause resolutions.
  • Complete required production paperwork.

Description

The Production Technician - Layup is responsible for state-of-the-art couch tops that offer a superior combination of rigidity and ultra-low attenuation in the treatment of cancer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Working with minimal supervision on a team to build specific composite parts per specifications.
  • Assisting in the preparation of molds and forms.
  • Marking and cutting tape, woven material, honeycomb, adhesive and similar materials following templates, guides or specific dimensions and sequences.
  • Fitting and smoothing successive layers of materials as necessary to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets and voids following directions and instructions.
  • Ensuring that the final size, shape, and details of parts are correct and in accordance with standards.
  • Noticing and commenting on the level of quality of products.
  • Working towards continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Recognizing problems and helping in their resolutions.
  • Completing required paperwork.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED), and 2 years’ experience in assembly, maintenance, manufacturing production, or related skills.
