Job summary

Fernway’s Production Technician I will be responsible for execution of production activities to manufacture Fernway products and support other operational teams, as needed.

On-site at HQ Rockford, IL, you will perform equipment setup, packaging, quality checks and safety compliance, while seeking efficiency improvements and accurate reporting. The role includes occasional warehouse tasks and cross-functional collaboration to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 21+ years old.
• State-issued Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass Cannabis regulatory background check.
• Experience in a high-volume service or production environment (preferred).
• Equipment maintenance & repair experience (preferred).
• Strong fine motor skills & comfort with hands-on work.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• A high degree of integrity and ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Set up, operate and maintain production equipment following SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Production Operations: Perform filling and packaging tasks, monitor processes, address issues, and escalate as needed.
• Quality Control: Conduct inspections to ensure specifications and report deviations.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to PPE protocols and health/safety standards.
• Process Improvement: Identify efficiency opportunities and support workflow optimization.
• Documentation and Reporting: Record production data and report issues promptly.
• Training and Knowledge-Sharing: Participate in training and mentor teammates.
• Workplace Organization: Keep area clean and organized.
• Additional tasks: assist with warehouse, deliveries/pickups when needed.
