Job summary

Mid States Concrete Industries is seeking a hands-on Yard Team Member to handle precast components and operate forklifts and cranes, preparing materials for delivery. This role requires physical work outdoors and a safety-first mindset.

You will load, unload, follow layout instructions, and collaborate with teammates to ensure timely shipments while upholding quality and safety standards. Starting pay is $21.36/hour, rising to $25.13/hour after one year, with weekly pay and company-paid health,

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, precast concrete, or a related industrial environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions or blueprints.
• Comfort working in outdoor environments year-round.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other industrial equipment to move and position precast concrete products.
• Load and unload concrete construction materials from trailers and throughout the yard.
• Follow layout instructions to place vertical and horizontal concrete structures accurately.
• Comply with all construction site safety standards and promote a culture of safety.
• Work independently after receiving direction; minimal supervision required.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50–100 pounds standing, climbing or kneeling up to 10 hours a day.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth yard operations and timely shipments.
• Identify and report equipment or product issues to supervisors.
• Assist in training new employees on safe and efficient yard operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe precast yard environment.

You’ll be responsible for handling, moving, loading, and staging large concrete construction components—such as precast walls, columns, slabs, and beams—ready for delivery to the job site.
