Job summary

USG is seeking a production team lead to oversee daily operations on the fixed second shift, including overnight and overtime coverage as needed. You will coach staff, monitor performance, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency across the production line.

You will manage staffing, provide guidance, and collaborate to meet production goals while upholding policies and fostering a positive, high-performance work environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet all team lead qualification requirements as established by the Plant Operator Rate Program.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required.
• Strong business acumen with focus on people leadership, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven leadership potential with accountability, sound judgment, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line leadership and oversight of daily production operations.
• Champion safety and ensure safe work practices and conditions are maintained.
• Manage production staffing and schedules, including overtime assignments.
• Provide guidance, troubleshooting, and direction to employees on duties.
• Drive operational excellence by optimizing use of equipment, materials, and labor.
• Lead training, development, and performance improvement of employees.
• Foster positive employee relations through effective communication and teamwork.
• Uphold company policies and standards in a fair and professional manner.
• Respond to changing business needs and varying shift assignments.
