Job Title: Production Team Lead
Classification: Hourly- Non-exempt
Reports To: Production Supervisor

Summary of Job

The Production Lead leads the day-to-day activities on the floor to ensure safety, cleanliness, adequate materials and supplies, smooth product flow, and achievement of daily targets. They ensure 5S standards are maintained and become the 5S champion for the group. The role drives safety, quality, continuous improvement, associate development, team engagement, and operational results. Responsibilities include training team members, setting resource strategies, and monitoring progress towards goals, as well as enforcing safety and quality policies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Resource for team members; escalates issues to maximize productivity.
• Coaches operators to promote safety, productivity, and engagement.
• Assists in safety initiatives and promotes a "safety first" culture.
• Trains, coaches, and enforces standards like 5S and standardized work.
• Provides feedback and coaching, identifies improvement opportunities.
• Uses Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies to solve problems.
• Performs production duties as needed to cover absences.
• Supports continuous improvement activities and drives 5S principles.
• Maintains process parameters and records, troubleshoots equipment.
• Ensures effective shift handoffs and manages daily schedules.
• Uses SAP to confirm production orders and resolve inventory errors.
• Updates metric boards and escalates disruptions.
• Coordinates with material handlers for raw materials and finished goods.
• Supports TPM efforts with operators and maintenance.
• Escalates issues with relevant background info.
• Schedules time efficiently and adheres to standardized work.
• Assigns team members based on needs and promotes urgency to meet targets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with lean tools like 5S, root cause analysis, standardized work.
• Ability to prioritize, drive accountability, and problem-solve.
• Math, computer skills, mechanical aptitude.
• Attention to detail, good color vision.
• Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to understand basic production processes and risks.

Environment

• Exposure to moving equipment.
• Indoor work environment.
• Heat conditions may exceed 90°F.

Compensation

The estimated hourly pay range is $28 to $32, based on experience and performance. Benefits are also included as part of the total compensation package.
