ZF Active Safety US Inc. in Garrett, IN is seeking a Production Team Lead to guide daily production activities, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and act as the shift contact for operators and support teams.

You will lead, coach, and monitor line performance, train staff on procedures and safety, assist with line changeovers, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues while escalating larger concerns.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in production environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and move in production areas.
  • Knowledge of BPCS and basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support production team members to meet daily production schedules and performance goals.
  • Monitor production line productivity and aid continuous work by providing process sheets, pick lists and other needed supplies and assisting with set-up/line change-over as needed.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, proper use of PPE, and compliance with company policies.
  • Train new and existing employees on production procedures, equipment operation, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting/adjustments of minor production equipment and escalate maintenance, quality, staffing, or material concerns as needed.

Job Description

The Production Team Lead is responsible for guiding daily production activities, supporting team members, and helping ensure that safety, quality, productivity, and customer requirements are met. This role serves as a point of contact for production employees during the shift and works closely with supervisors, maintenance, quality, warehouse, and other support teams to keep operations running smoothly.

  • Lead, coach, and support production team members to meet daily production schedules and performance goals.
  • Monitor production line productivity and aid continuous work by providing production lines with process sheets, pick lists and other needed supplies and assisting with set-up/line change-over as needed.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, proper use of personal protective equipment, and compliance with company policies.
  • Train new and existing employees on production procedures, equipment operation, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting/adjustments of minor production equipment (eg. Tape machine, replacement of blades on hand tape gun) and escalated maintenance, quality, staffing, or material concerns as needed.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year experience in production environment
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter production data, complete reports, and use common workplace systems
  • Knowledge of BPCS
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the production area for extended periods
  • Ability and willingness to cover voluntary overtime hours and shifts

Work Schedule 2:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. M-F, weekly and weekend overtime as scheduled.

Paid 20 minute lunch and breaks.
