Confidential Careers in Bryan/College Station is seeking an experienced Third Shift Production Supervisor to lead an overnight team of about 20 operators. This senior on-site role carries safety, quality, productivity, and people-development expectations similar to first shift, but with greater independence.

You will make sound operating decisions, reinforce standards, and ensure the first shift walks in to a well-run, fully documented operation each morning.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience supervising or leading production employees in machining, molding, precision components, or a comparable quality-sensitive discrete manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading an off shift or making independent production decisions with limited onsite management and technical support.
• Demonstrated ability to address performance, attendance, safety, quality, and behavioral issues directly and consistently.
• A track record of coaching and developing production employees.
• Practical CNC machining or comparable technical manufacturing knowledge, including an understanding of machine setups and tooling.
• Ability to read manufacturing prints, understand dimensional tolerances, and interpret basic inspection results.
• Experience working with written procedures, standard work, checklists, production metrics, shift reporting, and documented escalation processes.
• Sound judgment when responding to production, quality, safety, equipment, or personnel issues.

We have been retained to find an experienced Third Shift Production Supervisor for a fast-growing precision manufacturer in the Bryan/College Station area. Who will lead an approximately 20-person overnight production team at a company investing heavily in growth, additional capacity, and stronger manufacturing systems.

This is a highly visible leadership role with the same safety, quality, productivity, and people-development expectations as first shift—but with greater independence. As the senior production leader onsite overnight, you will make sound operating decisions, develop employees, reinforce standards, and ensure first shift walks into a well-run, fully documented operation each morning.

Responsibilities

You will be the senior production leader onsite during third shift, responsible for keeping the team, equipment, and work moving safely and effectively while knowing when an issue requires immediate escalation.

• Lead, coach, and hold accountable an approximately 20-person production team.
• Set clear expectations around safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and workplace standards.
• Run shift-start meetings and establish priorities for the night’s production requirements.
• Manage staffing, workflow, equipment utilization, and production performance throughout the shift.
• Make independent operating decisions when senior management, engineering, or quality leadership is not onsite.
• Recognize quality or safety concerns and stop or contain production when necessary.
• Escalate significant production, quality, safety, equipment, or personnel issues appropriately.
• Reinforce 5S, standard work, documented procedures, and structured problem-solving practices.
• Coach and develop operators rather than routinely stepping in to run production machinery.
• Maintain accurate production, downtime, quality, and shift documentation.
• Provide a clear written handoff to the incoming shift, including production status, open issues, holds, and required follow-up.
• Help less-experienced employees build their skills and advance to higher levels of responsibility.

Qualifications

The strongest candidate will be an experienced manufacturing supervisor who has successfully led people during an off shift where management and technical support were not always immediately available. Strong people leadership, judgment, and accountability are more important than being the deepest technical expert in the plant.

• Five or more years of experience supervising or leading production employees in machining, molding, precision components, or a comparable quality-sensitive discrete manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading an off shift or making independent production decisions with limited onsite management and technical support.
• Demonstrated ability to address performance, attendance, safety, quality, and behavioral issues directly and consistently.
• A track record of coaching and developing production employees.
• Practical CNC machining or comparable technical manufacturing knowledge, including an understanding of machine setups and tooling.
• Ability to read manufacturing prints, understand dimensional tolerances, and interpret basic inspection results.
• Experience working with written procedures, standard work, checklists, production metrics, shift reporting, and documented escalation processes.
• Sound judgment when responding to production, quality, safety, equipment, or personnel issues.
• Basic computer skills and comfort completing digital production and downtime reporting.

Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, structured root-cause problem solving, TWI, engineered polymers, or building greater structure within a production team is helpful. Bilingual English and Spanish capability is also a plus.

Schedule and Onboarding

This is a third-shift position. The current schedule runs five overnight shifts per week, although the company is evaluating a possible future move to approximately four 12-hour overnight shifts.

The successful candidate should be willing and able to work either schedule. The first approximately three months of onboarding will take place across first and second shifts to learn the operation, standards, equipment, and employees before assuming full responsibility for third shift.
