Job summary

Georgia-Pacific’s Denton, TX facility is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead an hourly production team, driving safety, quality and efficiency. You will apply PBM principles, coach staff, and ensure on-time production while minimizing waste.

The role requires at least one year of supervising in manufacturing, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and experience in corrugated packaging and KIWI application. This is a hands-on leadership position within a large, diverse packaging operation.

  • Ensure best practices minimize waste at machine centers.
  • Interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality and on-time production.
  • Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback; resolve complaints; communicate daily results.

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Production Supervisor at our Denton, TX Facility. The Supervisor will utilize leadership, operations experience, and communication to identify and convert change improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate safety as a value and lead a crew of employees to exceed production expectations for the shift. The candidate must be self-driven and demonstrate a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence and quality. Will also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills as well as being capable of leading transformation initiatives.

What You Will Do
  • Lead an operating team in compliance in safety, health, environmental, and quality.
  • Foster a culture based on our Principle Based Management (PBM) Philosophy.
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigating strategies; investigate incidents and participate in resolution of causes.
  • Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production.
  • Ensure best practices are followed for minimization of waste at machine centers.
  • Address key issues and concerns and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on-time production.
  • Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results on a daily basis.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • One (1) year or more of supervising employees within amanufacturing, production, industrial OR military environment.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Experience working in the corrugated packaging/containerboard industry on a corrugator.
  • Experience working with KIWI application.
